Serve With Us

SET To Flourish is blessed with a compassionate team of volunteers dedicated to creating a community to serve women in need, to empower women to flourish spiritually, personally, and professionally. Volunteers are needed to provide mentorship, life skills, and job training as well as for administrative and operational support.

Training for mentoring and teaching will be provided.

All volunteers will be required to submit a background check.

Mentor

The foundational piece of our program is the mentoring relationship, formed between our participants and volunteers who serve as mentors or "journey partners."

Mentoring is done primarily in small groups of 2-3 mentors meeting with 3-4 participants at a time, so that people won't feel the pressure that sometimes happens when meeting one-on-one.

As people get to know each other, if one mentor and one participant mutually want to meet one-on-one,  regarding particular topics around shared experiences, they are welcome to do so.

Teach

Another primary thread throughout our program is to encourage life-long learning. Regardless of our age or season in life, we should always be willing to teach others and to learn from others.

Our workshops and other learning activities, called Learning Circles, will cover a variety of topics, ranging from Bible study related, to life management, to job-related skills.

If you have a heart to teach or facilitate a workshop, let us know.

We encourage volunteers and participants to suggest topics and activities for Learning Circles.

Management

As with any organization, managers and coordinators are the ones who keep the operations and  administrative support in sync so that all work together.

We need volunteers who like to organize and coordinate. While some may end up filling leadership roles, others will choose to be less visible by serving in administrative support needs.

As a compassion ministry, we seek volunteers who are servant leaders. We hope to be role models for our program participants.

Advisory Council

If you want to support our work but don't have time to mentor or teach, please consider serving on our Advisory Council.

We seek women and men who have relevant professional experience or skill sets, or lived experience of the challenges commonly faced by those who are struggling to survive.

Our Advisory Council will provide feedback and advice and serve a similar function to a Board of Directors.
